Date published: 16 January 2016 by Ryan Roberts
Saturday the 16th of January saw a jam packed schedule of fixtures at the “The Greens” football fields in Manenberg.
Most of the fixtures in the home-and-away elimination format was hotly contested, however there were as always a couple of run-away results with JMI Academy, FN Rangers and Mighty United finding it rather easy against their opponents.
MPCE Football Academy and PPG Samora served up possibly the most action packed tie of the day with the final aggregate score across the two legs being 5-4 in favour of MPCE Football Academy.
The Atlantis clubs did not have a great day with both Robinvale Spurs and Atlantis Leeds being knocked out. Jomo Power on the other hand had a strong showing against Tableview FC and are looking forward to carrying the Atlantis flag into the round-robin and further.
There was also a penalty shootout in the tightest contested fixture for the day, with both Tottenham Hotspurs and KTC All Stars unable to score a goal in either match. Tottenham Hotspurs were victors in the penalty shootout converting 4 of their penalties whereas KTC All Stars only managed to convert 2 of theirs.
