Date published: 11 April 2016 by Damon Hintsa
The Hosts get off to a shaky start, in the early minutes of the first half, allowing Hellenic to string some passes together. This resulted in the pacey Hellenic frontman, to run at their defence but his attempt on goal proved fruitless.
Bayhill United soon found their feet and pressed Hellenic into their defensive third. The game remained scoreless as Bayhill were reduced to half chances as the game went further into the half.
Hellenic had the first real attempt on goal from a corner, which saw the defender rising for a header but narrowly missing the target.
The game opened up midway through the first half, as both teams had opportunities in quick succession. Hellenic took the lead from the spot when their striker was needlessly brought down just inside the penalty area. The score remained 1-0 to Hellenic going into the half-time break.
The second half saw both teams struggling to carve out any clear cut opportunities at goal early on. The midfield battle had both teams cancelling each other out, as neither of the two could provide the decisive pass into the final third.
Eventually Hellenic managed to mount a swift counter attack down the left flank which saw them score and take a two goal lead with a shot from the edge of the box.
Bayhill United's confidence took another blow, as Hellenic soon added the third. Bayhill United's goalkeeper was beaten at his near post, from 18 yards out.
As the game drew to a close Hellenic looked comfortable in possession, controlling the pace of game well. With the final whistle Hellenic marched into the knock-out stages, with a comfortable 3-0 victory over the hosts.
